The Dutch-built, M/V Antarctic Dream went through complete refurbishment in 2005, transforming it into a comfortable passenger vessel which now operates both Antarctica cruises and Arctic cruises. This spacious ice-reinforced vessel features nicely-appointed public areas including an observation lounge, bar, lecture room and dining room, and comfortable passenger cabins.
The vessel offers accommodation for 84 passengers. All cabins are twin and feature private toilet and shower. There are 4 suites, 6 superior cabins and 29 twin private cabins all with either portholes or windows and either two separate lower beds or queen beds. Additionally there are 3 twin private inside cabins without portholes or windows. All cabins have a desk, closed circuit TV, and inter-cabin phone service. Satellite email and phone service is available in the library.
The Antarctic Dream is operated by a Chilean crew and has a staff that includes an expedition leader and 4 naturalist guides/lecturers as well as a hotel manager, bartender, physician, 3 chefs, waiters and housekeeping staff.
Each day the captain and expedition leader assess conditions and plan the day to maximize your time ashore. This means taking full advantage of opportunities to land passengers with our zodiacs and making the best use of the light that comes with long summer days at our polar destinations. On board lectures are offered by geologists, historians, naturalists, expedition leaders and the ship’s captain.
